Not quite. The Texas has two guns per turret. This one has three. Though, it reminds me of the Arizona. Though the Texas and Arizona were two different classes, they shared many hull similarities. This is mainly due to the fact that they were designed and built around the early 1900s, not as late as the more modern fast battleships. These battleships were meant to slug it out and act as the main fighting force of the American Navy, unlike the Iowa class which served as escorts for the Carriers.
Sad to see these beautiful giants sitting in harbors all tied up. Its almost disgraceful, the Iowa's bathrooms? Dear god its a mess. But its nice that they are kept battle ready just in case. Though, I would love to see the battleship make a return. With the invention of the rail gun and the nuclear reactors we have today? Building one that is completely modern from the keel up would make it the single most deadliest machine around. Even if it is just a reboot of the Iowa class. The only issue would be building costs if she is nuclear. (Almost all ships today except for destroyers are nuclear. Subs and carriers of the like. Makes them cheap to steam across the planet.)
Though I can understand the confusion with the bulbous bow and the three gun turrets, the Yamato's tower is not a tripod tower, but rather more reminiscent of a Pagoda tower or something similar to the British Navy's towers. This tower is more akin to the modernized World War one battleships of the United States. Also, the Yamato's bow swept back much like the Iowa class' bows and she also had another battery of 8 inch guns in a three gun turret that was behind the second turret and above it. Also, the Yamato's bow had the imperial seal on it that the Japanese regularly put on the bows of their ships. And lastly, this ship is probably from World War one in simple hull design, but still she is just as beautiful. She looks more like the Arizona though.
pretty nice, better than anything ive done. i'm just wondering, did u base this off of an american ship? looks like a New York or New Mexico. I liked how you added the fire control system that directs the smaller 5" guns. awesome!
